BLOOD BETRAYED

I am everything forbidden.  I am vampire.

Haunted by betrayal, Saint hides in the human world, giving his heart to no one and finding the only solace from his past in the arms of human women. Now as the Archons begin their takeover of the vampire world, this Son of Navarus has been marked for death.

Summoned to defeat the Archons by the world that shunned him, Saint must face his past and Solenne, the woman he loved and lost a century ago, for only in accepting her will his body and soul finally find salvation.

Excerpt:

"Solenne, can you find a woman who doesn't smell like she's been deep fried in animal fat tonight?"

Closing the door to the refrigerator, Solenne turned to see Saint standing at the kitchen's center island. Shirtless. Again.

"Saint, do you own any shirts or do you need me to pick some up for you?"

Smirking, he raised his eyebrows in amusement. "Have we become a prude?"

Pushing past him, she sat down at the table and popped a grape into her mouth. "Don't you concern yourself with me, but dial back the Cro-Magnon act, can you?"

Leaning against the counter, Saint propped himself up on his elbows and rolled his eyes. "And the girl from last night?"

Solenne secretly enjoyed the thought of him repelled by Marie for any reason. Maybe he didn't drink from her. That would explain why he was being such an ass. Maybe he didn't sleep with her either.

"Marie seemed perfectly fine to me," she said casually as she picked grapes off the vine. "Maybe you just weren't her type. Maybe she has more refined tastes in men."

"Yeah, that sounds right. A woman who smells like a French fry has refined tastes. Just find me a woman who smells like a woman should."

You'll be lucky if I bring you one at all.

Saint strolled past her after issuing his order as if he were the king of the castle. God, he was infuriating!  If she'd ever met a man who could push her buttons more than Saint, she couldn't remember him. Wouldn't have wanted to remember him, at any rate.

It still amazed her how different he and his brother were. Teagan was smooth and so much fun to be around. And Saint? Always the darker, more sullen brother, he'd transformed into a shell of the man she'd met a hundred years ago, more detached and alone than anything else now.

But behind his gruff exterior—behind the defensiveness—that vulnerable soul she'd known then must still exist. At least she hoped it did.

It did no good to think about that now, though. She had a job to do, and at the moment that meant finding a human female to provide him with what he needed.

Even if it felt like she was betraying everything she held dear in her heart the whole time she was doing it.

Adult Excerpt:

"Solenne," he said almost in a whisper to not startle her, but it didn't work. She spun around with her arms covering her full breasts that strained against the thin fabric of her tank top, but she couldn't cover the bruises along her collarbone and across her shoulders.

Obviously inflicted that night, their redness had begun to fade to a deep purple where fingers had pressed roughly into her tender skin. Solenne saw the look of shock he didn't try to hide from his eyes and scrambled to grab a shirt from the back of a nearby chair.

"What is this?"

"Nothing. Just leave it be."

Saint took the shirt from her hand and threw it on the bed. "No." Dipping his head, he softly pressed his lips to the darkest bruise on her left shoulder. Fucking Archon!

Gingerly, he ran his fingers over her skin, gently touching each bruise before raising his head to look at her.  "Solenne, I promise you here and now I'm going to kill the one who did this. I'll drain him drop by drop until he begs for the release a stake will bring."

Eyes wide with tears looked up at him, their blue color pale and watery. "Saint, don't touch me like this if you don't mean it."

He meant it. He'd meant it in every dream he'd had of finally returning to her. Taking her face in his hands, he kissed her long and deep, drinking in the delicious taste of the lips he'd missed for so long.

God, he'd yearned to once again feel the touch of her skin next to his! Year upon year of lonely nights interrupted only by pale replacements ebbed from his memory now as his hands once again learned of the woman he'd always loved.

Solenne molded to him, setting his senses ablaze. His body craved to join with her, to finally reclaim that piece of his heart lost so painfully nearly a century ago. He slid his hands under her shirt to her breasts and worshipped them—their fullness in his palms, their deep pink tips pebbled from desire that begged for his mouth's attention.

"Come."

Taking her hand, he led her to the shower. "Don't move." A quick twist of the faucet handle and warm water streamed down from the showerhead.

"Do I look like I need a shower?" she asked in a teasing tone as he slipped the tank top over her head.

Saint looked down at her sexy mouth as he slid his thumbs under the waist of her shorts. "Always fighting me."

Crouching in front of her, he slid the shorts down her legs and off her feet. Eye level with her pussy, he looked up and licked his lips. "I hope you don't plan on fighting me now."

He didn't wait for a reply before he drew his finger up her wet slit. Solenne's eyebrows knitted and she bit her lip. Her eyes slowly closed and tiny moans filled his ears.

"Don't close your eyes. Watch me."

Solenne obeyed and her eyes grew wide as he slid his thumbs through her delicate folds to open her up, unveiling to his eager eyes her excited clit. Saint inched closer to her soft skin and whispered against her, "I've waited so long for this."

What Readers Are Saying About Blood Betrayed:

...packed full of action, surprises, hot alpha vampires, romance and hot sex that make for a great read for any fan of the genre.
Romance Book Junkies

Gabrielle's character development in this second book was outstanding and the story line filled with plenty of passion and sex hooked me right in. I was surprised that the book kept me guessing throughout the whole thing, usually in a series you can almost figure everything out.. A great great that is highly recommended for all vampire lovers.
My Cozie Corner

The twists and turns, flashbacks and subtle undertones made it a great read.  The plot was well planned and the tempo was just right.  There were no out of place surprises that pulled me from the story.  The characters were fleshed and full, complex and complete.
Satin Sheets Romance

It gives you the situation in the present and also dips back into the past for the explanation. It was a well-written story of love and betrayal. The truth in the past isn't revealed until near the end and I was vested to discover what exactly did happen to cause such misery and trouble. The characters were very well written and had depth and many layers to them. The tortured hero and hurting heroine were done just right. Solenne is no wilting flower just waiting for Saint to snap out of his pain. She's proactive and strong. Saint is hurting and he is spiteful, but he is not without honor.
Delighted Reader

I was on the edge of my seat when it came to Solenne and Saint. I had to keep turning the pages to find out what happened next to the characters. It was a big doozy when the truth finally came out.
I felt terrible for both Solenne and Saint. ( I won't spoil the storyline though for anyone who wants to read this book ).
Oh..and Vasilije and Sasa appear in this book as well as other characters. I'm really wanting to find out about Dante. =)
I highly recommend this book to paranormal romance readers, erotica readers, and vampire lovers out there.
Book Lovin Mamas

Gabrielle Bisset writes a fascinating tale the weaves ancient prophecies with vampires and love, heroes and villains, family and friends. The sire/vampire relationship is continually questioned as the handling of their progeny is different for each of the Sons, and Declan's sired vampires have a different story to tell.
The Reading Cafe

Attuned to her world building, Ms. Bisset writes with great detail to bring her paranormal world of vampires to life for her readers. She gives just enough detail for us to paint the picture without weighing the story down with sentence after sentence of description of setting. Her writing style allows the characters to tell their story and I also admire Ms. Bisset's attention to proper editing and grammar throughout the book.
Night Owl Reviews

Within Saint lies a poet's heart. Listen to this "I spent a century alone, an outcast from the world, but what was worse was not having you." This was another good one "Solenne, they've called me Saint for nearly a century because I refused to sleep with any female vampire - not just mine but any female of our kind. Did you doubt that I love you? That I ever stopped loving you?" I mean, the guy had only slept with one female vampire and because he loved her some much he wasn't going to do it with another. *sigh*
